About the CD

In 2007 Otago University, and Anthony Ritchie in particular, organised a reunion of composers who had held the Mozart Fellowship, New Zealand’s oldest composer residency. A number of works were performed and recorded.

My work, Almost an island was given its premiere by Ana Good (soprano) and Joyce Whitehead (piano).

About the recording

This double CD was a collaboration between SOUNZ and New Zealand Geographic which aimed to promote music by New Zealand composers to a wider audience. The recording of Hineraukatauri was kindly reproduced with permission from Atoll CDs.

The CD accompanied the January 2007 edition of the magazine which featured a long article about New Zealand music — 32,000 copies were distributed.
